AirZafari Greenland ApS is a Greenlandic and family owned company dated back to 2010.

AirZafari was started by wife and husband, Bente Biilmann Larsen and Jens Ploug Larsen. 

Bente and Jens both have many years of experience in the aviation industry, both operating as pilots.

While sharing a fascination with the diverse Greenlandic landscape, they felt the need to share this with friends, family, locals and tourists, so everybody would be able to witness the wonders of Greenland with their own eyes. This is how AirZafari came to be.

By October 1st 2020 their daughter Mia Biilmann Larsen, born and raised in Nuuk, took charge of both the company and cockpit becoming the owner, CEO and a pilot of AirZafari.

With high spirit, her knowledge and experience as station manager and COO from past seasons, she and the team continued to bring guests up above the magnificent scenery of her home, Kalaallit Nunaat / Greenland.

By August 2023, Mia was joined by her sister, Anna Biilmann Larsen, who is also a commercial pilot and CEO of AirZafari. Together they operate Greenland’s oldest privately owned airline while now focusing on their involvement with the local communities, re-thinking sustainable solutions and developing with the industry.

OPERATION

Besides sightseeing flights, AirZafari can offer: recco flights, transportation, survey operations, cargo flights, customized air operations and more. Please refer to our Charter page.

AirZafari’s main bases are Kangerlussuaq and Ilulissat. Flights can be arranged out of/to Sisimiut, Nuuk and/or other cities on the West coast of Greenland. We operate mainly from March until November and in VMC (visual meteorological conditions).

We offer pre-planned as well as customized tours. You can decide where, when and for how long! Just let us know your wishes and budget, and we will do our best to create the perfect flight for you.

We are flexible and will help coordinate flights for solo travelers as well as big groups.

In cooperation with Copenhagen AirTaxi, we operate 3 Vulcanair Partenavia P68 airplanes. Each plane has 5 passenger seats. 1 seat by the pilot and 4 seats in the back.

Our planes have high wing mounted wings and large windows. The mid-row has ‘bubble windows’ providing you with a 180 degree view. Front seat and the back row have an unobstructed view.

All seats have amazing conditions for viewing the landscape and taking pictures for you to bring home your memories.

We fly speeds between 100-135 knots and with a range up to several hours of flight time.
